Prepare Velobox for updates and install the update

To ensure your Velobox works reliably and you benefit from all new features, it should receive regular updates. These are automatically detected as soon as a connection to our update server is established. You can easily recognize this by the globe icon in the top bar – if it's green, everything is working perfectly. We continuously provide improvements and new features via our update server, making your work even easier and more efficient. Therefore, it's worthwhile to check for updates regularly or use the automatic update notification. If your Velobox is connected directly to a PC via LAN cable, the internet connection needs to be enabled once. After that, everything will work as usual. And to make sure you don't miss anything, we recommend subscribing to our newsletter – this way you'll always be informed about new features, tips, and current developments.

  1. Check if the globe icon at the top is green. Green means a connection to the update server. Red means no connection.
  2. If there is no internet connection and the Velobox is connected directly to the Windows PC via LAN, activate internet sharing on the PC.
    1. Press the Windows key and R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
    2. Open a Wi-Fi adapter with internet access by right-clicking, selecting Properties, and then the Sharing tab.
    3. Check the box to enable internet connection. Check the second box as well. Select Ethernet from the options below.
    4. Accept and OK
  3. Restart Velobox. Access the Velobox web interface. Check the status. The globe icon should now be green.
  4. Confirm the "New Update" message with OK. You will be taken to the settings.
  5. Open the Update tile and select Install update.
  6. Wait until the update is installed. Then restart Velobox.
  7. Test new features.
  8. For questions or problems, please send a short email to support@velometrik.com. Please include your customer number and serial number.
